About
433 heads of game were sold at the Agra and Namibia Game Breeders catalogue auction
on Friday, 15 June, achieving a total turnover of N$5,577 million. The
Agra/Bank Windhoek conference hall at the Windhoek Show grounds was packed with
spectators of which 58 were registered
prospective buyers who were bidding to lay hands on some of Namibia’s finest
and rarest game offered by Namibia Super Game Dealers.

Sable Antelope breeding group from Waldeck Game Ranch sold for N$230 000 each
for 2 females and 1 male and was bought by Hartebeestloop. Waldheim Exotic Game
Breeders sold a Sable cow for N$320 000 to Mr. RRP Adams. Foertsch Partnership
sold two Golden Oryx cows and one bull for N$450 000 each to Otjiterazu Guest
and Hunting Farm. A White rhino cow and
bull of Gocheganas were sold for N$250 000 each to Hunky Dory investments.
Before the auction, farmers were presented with
valuable practical information on game farming, by Dr. Louis Greeff, who shared many
aspects of game farming from years of experience as a game veterinarian and Dr.
Johan Kriek who focused on intensive and extensive game farming.
