Kalkfeld FA held its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday,24 July 2012 on farm Hamburg of the Beckers family in the Kalkfeld area. The meeting starting at 08:00 am. 50 Farmers and other agri-stakeholders attended the meeting. The main guest speaker was Mr Derek Wright who discussed the implications of the new labor law and also talked about pension funds. The other guest speakers was Mr. Clive Norten and Frik Muelder. They made a presentation on the new development innitiative for Kalfeld town.
Other interesting discussions included the involvement of Kalkfeld farmers that are assisting the Police force in Kalkfeld with the maintenance and repair of their vehicles in order for the Police to perform their duties. A further interesting discussion evolved around the involvement of Kalkfeld farmers with an initiative to develop Kalkveld town in order to create jobs for the community and thereby creating a prosperous environment. This will also inevitably reduce stock theft and poaching in the area.
