Making Yogurt is really easy. Just follow these steps:
- Wash your hands with a good sterilizing agent (soap)
- Take the quantity of milk (clean raw milk) that you want to make yogurt with. For the purpose of this exercise let us use one liter (easy to convert)
- Add 6% sugar (white): 60g/liter milk
- Add color (from supermarket) to the your preferred shade. This step can be omitted if you do not want colored yogurt.
- Boil the milk (just up to boiling point) together with the ingredients
- Cool the milk to 42-45 degrees Celsius
- Add 2 % (20g/liter milk) starter culture (purchase from supermarket: use natural plain yogurt)
- Add flavor (purchase from supermarket): 10ml/100liter of milk. This step can be omitted if you do not desire any flavor in your yogurt.
- Mix the flavor into the milk and then let it cool to room temperature (21-23 degrees Celsius) for 2 to 3 hours until it starts to thicken to form a jelly like consistency.
- Place the content into a cold room or fridge overnight at about 5 degrees Celscuis.
- The yogurt is ready for consumption. Remember to keep it cool
